Listener slots

This is the number of listeners that will be able to 'tune in' to your stream at any one time (also known as 'concurrent' listeners). There is no limit to the number of listeners you can get every hour or day but you can never peak over your limit at once.

Bitrate

The bitrate determines the audio quality of your stream. A higher bitrate will result in better quality but will cost more and some users with slow internet connections may get buffering on very high bitrate streams.

We recommend between 96k and 160k for music (the most popular being 128k) and anything from 24k for speech only broadcasts.

As a general rule

32k is roughly the same as an AM broadcast

128k is roughly the same as an FM broadcast

160k is almost as good as CD quality
